Prior to this rhe served as president of Avaya’s global services business and also had responsibility for the company’s strategy, corporate development and research labs. Additionally, Ali has held senior positions at IBM, including vice president of strategy and business development for the information management division. In that capacity, he sourced and integrated key acquisitions, including Cognos, FileNet and Ascential Software, creating the foundation for IBM’s business analytics strategy. His specialties include: general management, mergers and acquisitions, acquisition integration, strategy, engineering, operations, venture capital, startups, alliances.

Prior to Austinfish, Julia was the VP of Innovation and the Cambridge Site Director for VMware, Inc.. Prior to VMware, Julia was the Vice President of Engineering at Akamai Technologies and has held technical management and consulting positions at several other organizations. Previously, George was Chairman and CEO of Excite@Home, bringing together the Excite portal with the @Home cable broadband platform in a $7 billion merger. George was CEO of Excite prior to the merger, led the company’s IPO, oversaw the acquisition of more than 20 companies and expanded Excite into a worldwide media property. Earlier George founded The Outdoor Life Network (now Versus Network), a specialty cable channel reaching 60+MM homes; and served as SVP, Times Mirror Magazines, where he oversaw eight special interest magazines, such as SKI and Field & Stream.

    Dan is best known for co-developing VisiCalc, the first electronic spreadsheet, while he was a student at the Harvard Business School. VisiCalc is widely credited for fueling the rapid growth of the personal computer industry. Until early 2004, Mr. Bricklin served as CTO of Interland, Inc., after it acquired his previous company, Trellix Corporation, in 2003. Before Alpha Software, he led Software Garden where he created the Note Taker HD iPad app.

He also was the founding chairman of ACA’s sister organization, the Angel Capital Education Foundation, in partnership with the Kauffman Foundation. AECF works with angel investors, venture capitalists, academic leaders and entrepreneurs around the country to provide research and educational programs on angel investing.
